In light of some of my recent experiences, I am beginning to truly believe that any web-application startup should have a dedicated designer on staff, and from as early on in the development process as possible. They will shape the voice of the product, the experience that your users will have, and basically lay the ground-work for a successful product (if they do their job right, of course)....
